SUPER MAJORITY VOTE REQUIRED TO APPROVE CERTAIN INCREASES IN LAND USE DENSITY OR INTENSITY

Whether the Charter should be amended to require that ordinances amending Sarasota County's Comprehensive Plan which increase allowable land use density or intensity be approved by a super majority vote of the Board of County Commissioners.  "Super majority" means an affirmative vote of a majority plus one of the full membership of the Board of County Commissioners.  Presently, the Board can approve such increases in land use density or intensity by a simple majority vote.
